Our Pray Grow Serve Vision
Our vision is based on Jesus’ Great Commission:
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Since 2014 the Diocese of Exeter vision has been to grow in prayer, make new disciples and serve the people of Devon with joy.
We aim to do this through our five missional priorities: missional leadership, missional DNA, vocations, children & young people and mixed ecology (varied missional expressions of church). You can read more about the priorities here.
In January 2026 we launched Pray Grow Serve 2035, an ambitious ten-year plan based on our vision which aims to help churches across Devon grow, flourish and serve their communities for generations to come. Read more here.
Pray Grow Serve 2035 is being part-funded by a £10m grant from the national Church of England. Read a booklet about Pray Grow Serve 2035 here.
